[TAIKOH]
Originally, it was a dye name meaning a faded crimson color. Later, Kariginu (狩衣) dyed in this color came to be referred to as ‘Taikoh 退紅/褪紅.’ After the Middle Ages, it was used as clothing for people of low social status with black hakama.
[ARAZOME]
‘ARAZOME’ is a very light reddish purple with a redness between cherry blossom color and IKKONZOME, and the color name means faded red. In the “Engi Dansho Daishiki (延喜弾正台式)”, which describes the ritual rules of the Heian period, it is described as the dress color of the carriage horse lady, and those who wear it are called “Taikou”.
