[SAKURAIRO]

“Sakurairo” is the color of Japanese cherry blossoms.

However, in the Heian period when this color name began to be used, wild cherry blossoms were common instead of cherry blossoms like Someiyoshino in modern times. So it’s a little different from the color of cherry blossoms that we usually see.

Traditionally, safflower has been used to express cherry and peach colors.

Because, Cherry tree dye contains a lot of orange and beige, and it was technically impossible to extract only the pink color. Also, when dyeing with cherry wood, it is often the case that the color is completely different depending on the year.
